What is the active ingredient of the Life Peak solution?
The active ingredient is Isopropyl alcohol for the Original Mint solution, and Ethyl alcohol for the Citrus solution.
-
Will the alcohol cause a drying effect on my skin?
For most of our competitor’s products, yes! The magic of the Life Peak solutions are our natural emollient complex will not only remoisturize the skin, but makes your hands softer and smoother with increased use!
-
What is the power source that operates the Life Peak Touchless Dispenser?
The dispenser includes an A/C adapter. It can also use four “AA” type alkaline batteries, which usually last for over a year.*
* Calculated without use of Night Light. If Night Light is desired, we recommend using the included A/C adapter.
-
Is there a specific amount of solution dispensed with each activation?
The dispenser is preset at the factory at the lowest setting to dispense approximately 0.7ml of solution. However, you have the ability to control the amount of solution dispensed.
-
What type of applications would require a volume adjustment?
For example, a 0.7ml volume would be appropriate in a day care facility or pre-school, or a home with kids where the size of a child’s hands would not require any more than that amount. 1ml of solution coats the average adult sized hand. If this were to be used as a surgical pre-scrub in a medical setting, it would require a 6ml dosage.
-
How much solution is there in each solution bag of Life Peak?
There is approximately 12oz or 355ml, for over 500 doses per solution bag when the unit is set at a 0.7ml dose.
-
Can I develop an allergic reaction to alcohol?
No. Alcohol is a non-allergenic product.
-
What types of studies are available regarding the efficacy of the Life Peak solution?
There are a number of studies, including both in vivo (on human skin) from Europe and Canada; and in vitro (in a Petri dish) from the United States. Detailed lab results are available upon request from Life Peak offices.
-
Are there recent US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations regarding hand hygiene?
Yes. The CDC hand hygiene guidelines recommend alcohol-based sanitizers to replace soap and water as the primary tool for hand disinfection in all health care settings, unless the hands are visibly soiled (blood, debris, or proteinaceous matter).
-
Is there any residue left on the skin after using Life Peak?
No. Unlike the alcohol based gel products and foams, the emollient penetrates deep into the pores, totally eliminating any negative, sticky residue on the surface of the skin.
-
What is the difference between Life Peak and gel-based sanitizers?
Life Peak uses Germstar solution in it's dispensers, which is a proven product used world-wide. It is a premium quality, hospital-grade solution, which has a water-like consistency for a superior rinse, surface coating and skin penetration effect, leaving no sticky residue. Gel-based sanitizers are common, drug store products which employ thick gel as their base. The gel itself can interfere with the alcohol/germ contact, reducing the killing efficacy and leaving the hands with sticky residue. Further, the long contact time in the case of gels and anti-bacterial soaps may allow germs to develop a resistance against these products.
-
What kind of warranty does the dispenser have?
There is a two-year limited warranty. Since the system is based on gravity dispensing, there are no moving parts in the dispenser which push or squeeze the solution out, such as our competitor’s dispensers. Our plunger is housed inside the solution bag; each time you replace a solution bag, you change the only moving part in the system.
-
Does Life Peak have a shelf life?
Yes. Life Peak solution has a shelf life of 2 years.
-
How does the cost of Life Peak compare to the standard soap & water hand wash?
The standard hand wash will range between 10 and 20 cents per wash, depending on the cost of all components required (hot water, soap, paper towels and time). The lack of similar components needed when using Life Peak reduces the cost per wash, for a more effective and true sanitizing hand wash.
-
How difficult is it to maintain a Life Peak Touchless Dispenser?
It is easy! Use the A/C adapter or change batteries when the LED indicator blinks red, and change the refill pouch when the last drop is gone. Dosage levels can be easily adjusted.
-
Will I really be healthier by using Life Peak?
As we say, use Life Peak to prevent, protect…be well! There are never guarantees against getting sick. Since 80% of infectious diseases (colds, flu’s, viruses) come from tactile exposure, the more germ-free the hands, the lower the probability of bringing these microorganisms into the body. Some customers have reported dramatic declines in the frequency of annual colds, flu’s and viruses. Hand sanitizing with Life Peak is one of a number of things you can do to lower your risk.
-
Is Life Peak safe and effective for children? What has the CDC said about alcohol-based hand sanitizers?
Yes, most children learn quickly when shown by an adult how to properly sanitize their hands. Like all alcohol-based products, Life Peak should only be used by children old enough to learn the proper usage and keep the solution out of their mouth. Our products are used widely in daycare and elementary school settings. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that children in school may use alcohol-based hand rubs as an alternative to hand washing.
-
Who are the biggest consumers of these products?
They are widely used in the medical, dental fields, cruise line industry, schools, private residences, and businesses. Our products popularity has created demands in many other places such as corporate offices (pandemic plans), government agencies (police, fire, border patrol, FDIC, VA hospitals, EMT, correctional facilities, etc.), fitness centers, schools, restaurants, hotels, amusements parks, grocery stores, industrial companies, etc.

What do I do if the sanitizer or dispenser stream is not dispensing straight down?
Step 1: Obtain a small tool that comes to a point on one end. The point needs to be small enough to fit into the hole of the red cap on the dispenser bag. A small utility knife with a sharp blade, an eyeglass Phillips head screwdriver, or a toothpick are examples of tools that will work.
Step 2: Remove the bag from the dispenser keeping the red cap pointing downwards. Place your index finger over the hole on the red cap to prevent the solution from dripping and flip the bag so the red cap is pointing upwards. Remove your finger.
Step 3: Carefully place the point of your tool into the small hole on the red cap and slowly rotate the tool in order to scrape or deburr any overhanging plastic edges that are obstructing the opening. While rotating the tool, you want to make sure that you do NOT increase the diameter of the hole by digging around too deeply or exerting too much pressure. You are only trying to scrape away the small, barely visible, plastic residue left behind from snapping the top off; you do NOT want to widen the hole.
Step 4: Once you have created a clean opening for the solution to be dispensed through, again place your index finger over the hole on the red cap to prevent the solution from dripping and flip the bag so the red cap is pointing downwards. Remove your finger. Place the bag back into the dispenser and test. If necessary, repeat the above process carefully until the stream is dispensed straight down.

Can you eliminate the alcohol odor of Life Peak?
Remember: the alcohol is the active ingredient, so when you detect it, the killing effect is taking place. We do have a Citrus sanitizer solution, which is formulated to virtually eliminate the alcohol odor during use if preferred. Read more about our solutions on our solutions page, which is found under the products tab on the left side navigation bar.

What should I do if the solution does not dispense, when I put my hand underneath the dispenser?
There are three things to check if the solution is not dispensing.
1. Are the batteries inserted correctly? If they are inserted correctly the light on the front of the dispenser will be blinking green.
2. Does the solution bag fit securely into dispenser? The solution bag has a white rectangular shape that protrudes from the bottom of the bag. Firmly snap this white rectangular piece into the corresponding opening in the dispenser. This needs to be fit securely.
3. Is the stem jammed? There is a small metal object inside of the white stem of the solution bag that must move freely to enable the solution to dispense. Remove bag from dispenser, then place your finger over the opening on the stem and flip the bag upside down. Gently flick the white stem until the metal piece falls.

Why did the batteries run out quickly?
Most likely, the night light feature of the dispenser is set to be constantly on, which can cause the batteries to run out within 2 weeks. To avoid the batteries running out you can use the AC/DC adapter that was included with the dispenser, or set the night light to be on only when it is dark. To do this, flip the switch located on the flat bottom side of the globe toward the back. Reach in from the side to avoid triggering the dispenser and push the switch one click to the left so it is in the middle. On this setting, the dispenser will sense when it is dark to switch the night light on, and when it is light to switch the night light off. To turn the night light feature off completely, push the switch all the way to the left.
